Lynn Hanley lives and works in Edinburgh. She trained and worked as a freelance printed textile designer for several years before returning to her first love of painting on moving to Edinburgh in 1985.  Her love of the city and it's architecture has been a recurring theme in her work since.

Lynn's cityscapes and landscapes show the influence of her textile background with her use of colour, design and texture creating a unique style.

Her paintings depict quirky details and are full of characters making the paintings into little stories. Her work has been described as 'peppered with tiny people like Lowry crossbred with Beryl Cook. Deliberately naïve and meticulously painted, they have a charm that is uplifting.

She has exhibited in Scotland, England and France and also produces limited and open edition prints from her original paintings.
